Single Skill Session

One skill.
Working it changes everything around it.

For any leader. Any team. Any of the 30 skills in the Stopover Terrain.

What it is

One skill. Worked seriously.

The Leadership Check-In and Team Read diagnose where you are. The Single Skill Session is what you do about it. Pick one of the 30 skills from the Stopover Terrain. Bring one real situation where it’s being tested in your work right now. We work it together — diagnostic, not prescriptive. You leave with one concrete change to test before your next week is done.

1-on-1 · 60 minutes · Video or in-person (Victoria, BC)

One skill. Your whole team in the room.

The Leadership Check-In and Team Read diagnose where you are. The Single Skill Session is what you do about it. Your team works one skill from the Stopover Terrain together for 60 minutes — in a structured session designed for a lunch-and-learn or regular team meeting. Every voice in the room. Diagnostic, not prescriptive. The team leaves with one concrete shared practice to test before the next week is done.

How it works

Four moves.

01
Pick the skill
Choose one from the 30 in the Stopover Terrain. Not sure which? A short pre-session call helps find the right one from your context before we start.
02
Bring a real situation
Something live in your work right now where this skill is being tested. A real decision, a real tension, a pattern you already recognize.
03
Work it together
You bring what you already know about this skill. The work tests it against something real and sharpens it. Most leaders come out with a version of the skill that is both clearer and more demanding than the one they walked in with.
04
Leave with one change
One concrete, observable shift in how you work this skill. Something you can practise before the end of next week.

Four moves.

01
Find the right skill
We work with you to identify where the real opportunity is. We name the skill precisely: where it shows up in your team’s work and where it falls short.
02
Learn the skill
In the room: a clear frame on what this skill actually is, what it gets confused with, and what it looks like when it’s working in a team like yours.
03
Work it
An experiential exercise that puts the skill into practice with your team, grounded in your current work. You practise it, not just discuss it.
04
Leave with a move
Understanding turns to action. Every session closes with something concrete to take back into your work. You don’t leave the room without a direction.
